Made from 100% wool felt, the hat is securely tacked up on three sides with waxed cord to form the classic tricorn style. The brim of the hat has a double layer of black lace, woven gold trim and a deep burgundy braid with gold accent woven through. A gold tone faux pearl brooch adorns the left side and the hat is finished with two ostrich plumes, one black and one gold, secured in an aglet and tucked into the hat band behind the brooch. The feathers are removable and can be switched to either side of the hat. I keep my feathers tucked into the hat this way, and they stay put all day, even in windy or rainy conditions, and through all sorts of piratey shenanigans.
