John Lofgren M-43 Service Shoes - Horween Natural CXL 。The M-43 is on the Munson last, created in 1943 by a military doctor after studying the best sole type for soldiers. The specifications were simple: composition sole, welted construction, and natural combination-tanned rough-out cowhide, all built up on a Munson last w/ an unstructured toe. The goal- a cost-effective, durable shoe for combat conditions.
Chromexcel cowhide- an extremely sturdy and handsome leather- only gets better w/time. These are made from full grain natural CXL roughout. Like the smooth finish, the roughout is an extremely dynamic leather that\'s been finished without any sort of dye applied. The light tan roughout patinas quickly and dramatically. Individual panels across the boots may begin as different hues of brown or tan and will settle into a more uniform color over time and wear. The leather is thick and sturdy, starting out noticeably stiff and requiring a few weeks of good wear to really break-in. After that, the leather begins to relax considerably, molding to take the shape of the wearer\'s foot and softening at flex points to move more easily.
