Originally releasing way back in 1990, the Grape Jordan 5s were among the earliest off-colored pairs in the budding Air Jordan legacy. Drifting away from the Chicago Bulls team-matching formulas, Nike began offering up its chief signature shoe line in new color styles to broaden the reach of the Jumpman. On a cultural standpoint, the Air Jordan 5 “Grape” may be best noted for its many appearances on television, particularly the hit show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air starring Will Smith.
